Assoc. Prof. Oya Topdemir Koçyiğit, as part of her secondment in Paris, conducted workshops, finalized the STAR PROJECT survey, held meetings with official representatives and association representatives in Paris, and carried out publication work. In this context, she contacted the Turkish Embassy in Paris, the Paris Yunus Emre Institute, TUSIAD Paris (Turkish Industry & Business Association), MUSIAD Paris France (Association of Independent Industrialists and Businessmen), DTIK (Türkiye -France Business Council)/DEİK/Türkiye-France Business Council, Association Femmes du Monde Hanimeli, the Franco-Turkish Chamber of Commerce (CCIFT), and a former trade attaché from the Turkish Embassy in Paris.

From June 2nd to 6th, she participated in a workshop titled “Practical Insights from a Cross-Cultural Analysis of ESG Sustainability Statements” organized by the Institut Europeen D’etudes Du Developpement (IEED) in Paris, where she presented “A Socio-Cultural Assessment of the Institutional Dilemmas of ESG Sustainability Reporting Practices in Romania and Italy.” From the second week of her secondment, she began contacting representatives of official institutions and associations to promote the STAR project, connect with businesses that prepare ESG reports, gather information about the role of associations and businesses in ESG sustainability activities, and seek support for disseminating the project survey, which she prepared and finalized in Türkiye together with the Istanbul University project research team (sociology and anthropology). In addition, after consulting with the previous Trade Counselor, Assoc. Prof. Oya Topdemir Koçyiğit announced a survey on the “DEIK Diaspora Turque de France” social media group, which has 574 members and is affiliated with the DEIK, an organization that has been facilitating the establishment of Türkiye’s foreign trade ties with France and the rapid development of economic and commercial relations between these countries since its establishment in 1987. She also conducted various field visits to understand the cultural aspects of the social dimension of sustainability in a real-world and local context. In this context, she focused on how social sustainability practices relate to immigrant experiences, working life, and living culture in her interviews with Turkish immigrants. She also visited Turkish-origin immigrants and small and large businesses in the Paris 93 district, where there is a high concentration of immigrants, to gather insights. Finally, she conducted research for publication, utilizing feedback received on the paper she presented at the workshop and her current field experiences throughout her secondment.
